Janghi means 'to go to school' in Woloff

Education, to be able to choose which adult to be tomorrow.

We believe that education is the most powerful tool to change the destiny of children. Senegal is a country where many children we assist cannot go to school because of economic, cultural and bureaucratic reasons. According to Unesco data, West Africa, where Seengal is based is the region with the lowest rate of schooling in the world.

We have been doing this together for 8 years, with your donations and the support of more than 90 volunteers active locally and around the world, creating a network of people who want to take action by creating incredible opportunities for cultural exchange.

School for all

Education enables disadvantaged children to discover how vast the world of opportunities is. It also takes them off the streets and away from exploitation and crime.

Living conditions

Studying is only possible if children are healthy, well nourished and safe. This is why, in addition to school fees, we provide 90% of Janghi children with support in health, hygiene, nutrition and improved living conditions.

Being children

...also means knowing your rights. With our volunteers, we organise games, civic activities, awareness-raising activities and moments with families. And we are always listening to them, ready to defend their rights.

The Talibés

We offer an alternative for these children entrusted by their families to religious teachers from the age of 4 - we complement their religious studies with a complete secular education and we take them off the streets where they would otherwise be forced to beg.

Life stories changed with Janghi

I'm Thierno and I'm a Talibé. And I'm going to school this year.

Thierno is the son of peasants, and like his peers was entrusted by his parents from the age of four to a Koranic teacher who would provide him with a purely religious education, far from his parents, unfortunately forced to beg on the streets of Dakar for many hours of the day.

But this year Thierno's life will change. Janghi has convinced his family and his religious teacher to send Thierno to school, and he will pay for everything. He is overjoyed and will try hard, because he dreams of becoming a doctor!

With Janghi everyone can make a contribution

Volunteers, donors, children we formerly supported, members, educators and many others.

Seeing the beauty of a child is the impetus that must move us to concretely help those who have fewer possibilities.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a small seed of universal brotherhood.

It is only through knowledge that one understands the other, that one becomes friends, and that one has the tools to protect oneself.

That is why I chose to take the children in my care to school, so that with Janghi they can continue to learn.
